“CBD is no stranger when talked about for its medicinal benefits, but sometimes oils, topicals, flower or even vaping, just feel like too much to deal with if you’re in a pinch.  A lot of people prefer edibles over other forms of CBD products because they are fast-acting and discrete.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE:  Studies indicate that the absorption strength is higher when CBD Oil is taken under the tongue or inhaled.  When taking CBD edibles, you may need to increase your dose.”

— The CBDSisters

WHY EDIBLES ?

When you ingest CBD oil, it is absorbed through the digestive system and is metabolized by the liver, eventually sending its active compounds to your bloodstream. This form of administration is exactly how vitamins and other daily supplements are most typically taken.

Common ingestible CBD oil products include edibles, capsules, and beverages. Capsules can be easily swished down with a mouthful of water and are among one of the easiest ways to take CBD.  CBD oil can be infused into a wide variety of edibles and beverages, including coffee.

Ingestion, while considered by most to be the easiest administration method, isn’t necessarily the most efficient for absorbing high levels of CBD unless you are consuming CBD with fatty acids that can help bypass the metabolism to increase how much CBD is absorbed through ingestion. Which is why RESTART CBD is mixed with organic MCT oil, a rich source of beneficial fatty acids.

5 BENEFITS

We know how difficult it can be to relax with a busy schedule. Edibles are the perfect addition to your daily routine, guaranteed to set you on the path for a relaxing day.

Though edibles can take longer to take effect (between 30 min and 2 hrs) CBD is released slowly over long periods of time as food is digested, so it lasts longer than. inhalation.

Since no smoking is involved, your lungs are not effected!

Edibles take on the positive properties of the foods they are paired with, whether it’s the calming effect of chammomile in tea or the antioxident benefits of chocolate — there are countless opportunities for extra benefits.

No one will be able to tell the difference between your edibles and normal snacks from an outside perspective when you need a pick-me-up in public.

Unlike smoking or vaping, with pre-packaged edibles you can easily figure our how much you are ingesting at a time.

F.A.Q.

“Edibles are exactly what you think they are—ingestible forms of cannabis that doesn’t require the use of fire to become activated. This is why so many THC and CBD users prefer edibles to smoke, vaping, or dabbing; there is no smoke permeating the lungs or throat.

Cannabis edibles come in three basic types: CBD edibles which are CBD dominant (contains little to no THC), balanced THC/CBD edibles (containing equal amounts of THC & CBD), and THC edibles which are THC dominant (contains little to no CBD) that produces a strong mental high.

Since balanced edibles also contain THC, consumers are subjected to experiencing the “mental” or psychedelic high weed is so well known for. Alternatively, CBD dominant edibles will not induce any feelings or sensations of intoxication.”

Full-spectrum has traces of THC but below the legal percentage limit of becoming marijuana. Instead of being processed over, full-spectrum gummies are created from the live plant. Generally, full-spectrum will have other things like CBN, CBG, CBC, and other spectrums within the CBD Products.

Broad-spectrum or pure CBD, on the other hand, are very effective ways to know how many milligrams you’ll get as well as the benefit of 0% THC. So for people who’re planning on getting drug tested or want to keep any traces of THC out of the body, isolated gummies are the way to go.

WHAT THEY DON’T TELL YOU.

There are quite a few CBD products on the market today, including CBD water.  So I will get right to the point.

Many are made with reverse osmosis water.  Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems excel at removing water impurities.  Sounds good, right?

But did you know that reverse osmosis also removes beneficial minerals. In fact, the reverse osmosis process removes 92-99% of beneficial calcium and magnesium.

Hundreds of scientific studies concerning demineralized or reverse osmosis water have been analyzed by the World Health Organization. They released a report stating that such water “has a definite adverse influence on the animal and human organism.”

As consumers we are so concerned with removing as many things as possible from our water that we  assume ‘no toxins equals better health.’

But does it actually improve your health? There is more to healthful water than a lack of toxins.

What is alarming is that consuming reverse osmosis water for even just a few months can create serious side effects.  Only a few months exposure may be sufficient ‘consumption time effects’ from water that is low in magnesium and/or calcium.

From 2000-2002 the Czech and Slovak populations began using reverse osmosis-based systems for final treatment of drinking water at their home taps. Research showed that within several weeks or months various health complaints suggestive of acute magnesium (and possibly calcium) deficiency were reported. Among these complaints were tiredness, cardiovascular disorders, muscle cramps or weakness. Serious side effects within just several weeks or months.

It gets even worse. Because reverse osmosis water doesn’t have enough minerals, when it’s  consumed, it leaches minerals from the body. This means that the minerals being consumed in vitamins and food and are being urinated away which can cause serious negative side effects and big health problems.

In a scientific study performed to see if minerals consumed in food can make up for the lack of minerals in reverse osmosis water, scientists concluded that “reduced mineral intake from water was not compensated by their diets…low-mineral water was responsible for an increased elimination of minerals from the body.”

“It has been adequately demonstrated that consuming water of low mineral content has a negative effect on homeostasis mechanisms, compromising the mineral and water metabolism in the body.”

Consumption of reverse osmosis water “leads to the dilution of the electrolytes dissolved in the body water.  Inadequate body water redistribution between compartments may compromise the function of vital organs.

Side effects at the very beginning of this condition can include:

  • tiredness
  • weakness
  • headache
  • muscular cramps
  • impaired heart rate

WHAT CAN WE DO?

Nobody wants to trade one set of health risks for another set. Consumers filter their water to improve their health, not set it back. Fortunately, reverse osmosis isn’t the only technology that can remove a broad range of contaminants.  Look for water systems designed specifically to improve health.  And make sure your bottled water preserves the beneficial minerals.

CBD DOSING WITH EDIBLES

Edibles are typically available in 10 – 25 mg. servings so it’s easy to determine how much  CBD you’re getting in any one dose.

If you’re 150 pounds and under we recommend beginning with 10 mg., see how you feel after 90 minutes and then take another 10 mg. if you haven’t achieved the relief or state of mind you’re looking for.  If you weigh more check the chart below.

With edibles, due to lower absorption rates from ingestion, higher mg are usually required vs. taking CBD oil sublingually under your tongue or vaping it.

Guidelines Only:

  1. under 50 pounds: up to 10mg CBD
  2. 51-100 pounds: 10-20mg CBD
  3. 151-200 pounds: 15-30mg CBD
  4. over 200 pounds: 20-50mg CBD

One thing that a lot of people seem to get confused about is the difference between CBD gummies and CBD edibles. CBD gummies ARE edibles!  They are enjoyed all over the world in different shapes, flavors and sizes.

Basically, any kind of cannabis or CBD-infused product that you “eat,” would of course be classified as an “edible.” However, CBD oils are not classified as edibles because even though they are administered orally (by placing drops under the tongue and then swallowing), you are not technically “eating” it.

A lot of people prefer edibles over oils (or other forms of CBD products like salves, capsules, ointments, etc) for a couple of different reasons.

  • When you eat a CBD gummy, the active compound is absorbed straight into cells through the digestive system – easy, quick, and highly efficient.
  • While some companies have managed to kind of mask the bitter taste of raw hemp in their oils, many products out there are downright nasty, and even difficult to swallow (let alone to try and hold under your tongue for a minute and a half!). With the exception of RESTART CBD Pure CBD oils that are tasteless, odorless and leave no after-taste.  Even our RESTART CBD Full Spectrum Oils are one of the best we’ve tasted.  Using only raw honey, agave/monk fruit to cut the “hempy” taste.
  • Because of the taste of some full spectrum CBD Hemp oils, CBD edibles are preferred by thousands of day-to-day CBD consumers, and are often commonly used in the workplace due to their discreteness.
  • Some people say that CBD gummies (and other forms of edibles) are more faster-acting for them than sublingual (under the tongue) oils. However, studies indicate that the absorption strength is higher when taken under the tongue or vaped.  So keep in mind, when taking CBD gummies, you may need to increase your dose.
  • With CBD oils, the compounds are absorbed through glands first, before eventually ending up in the bloodstream. It may take longer to notice the effects when using CBD Oils.  As a general rule of thumb, it’s typically regarded that gummies/edibles are faster-acting, while oils are much longer-lasting (many people, for example, get by with just a single morning dose).
  • One of the most popular reasons that people buy gummy bears (25mg CBD) is for discreteness while eating them at work.
  • CBD infused gummies are the perfect way to get your potent cannabidiol dose for all-day long relaxation. They are easy to carry and perfect for those on the go.
  • Of course, one of the main reasons to try CBD gummies is that they are simply DELICIOUS. If we put the medical aspects aside and you decide to try one or two, you’ll understand. It’s a fun way to consume CBD, and it provides people with a healthy and balanced source of energy. And most importantly, it’s packed with health and wellness advantages without giving you the “high” of traditional marijuana products.

Similar to CBD oils, CBD gummies are edibles that are packed with CBD. The best ones for you will be 100% natural with no artificial flavors or colorings.  And you can get them with and without THC.

Unlike pure CBD from marijuana (which also contains high amounts of THC), CBD gummies are made from hemp oil. So they are completely non-psychoactive.  Full spectrum CBD gummies should contain <0.3% THC. They will also contain other important cannabis compounds such as CBD, CBN, CBG, terpenes plus selected vitamins like D3, B12 and Vitamin D.  CBD Isolate gummies will not contact any THC and the best ones use 99%+ Pure CBD.

It’s important to understand that extracting CBD from hemp is not exactly the same thing as extracting CBD from Cannabis (marijuana). Since hemp is legal, it naturally contains fewer cannabinoids (most notably THC) than regular cannabis does.

Manufacturers must process massive amounts of it at a time just in order to get sufficient amounts of CBD in the hemp oil extract. It can be a potentially risky process if it’s not done right.

Some manufacturers, for example, pump harsh solvents like hexane and butane through massive volumes of raw hemp in order to extract the plant’s active compounds. While effective, this can lead to dangerous chemical residues being left over in the final product

This is why it’s so important when choosing the best CBD gummies, to only buy from quality, reputable companies with transparent and proven extraction methods.

We do not recommend products that use CBD that’s been extracted with this method.

We do recommend CO2 Extraction. CO2 extraction is a relatively complex (and VERY expensive) technique, but there are a few companies in the cannabis industry that have managed to master the process, compressing as much CBD as possible from the raw hemp flowers into a therapeutic, safe and very potent product.

Not to be confused with the primary ingredient in marijuana (Delta-9 THC), Delta-8-THC (D8) is found in very small concentrations. D8 is a middle-ground between hemp, CBD, and THC-delta-9.

The chemical bond in D8, or the connection of atoms, ions, and molecules, is one less than Delta-9. Because of their close molecular structures, they evoke similar effects throughout the brain. It is a less intense version, has possible reduced side effects of cannabis, but still produces effects closely aligned with Delta-9, such as increased appetite and relaxation.

However, every person is different and may not feel them to the same degree. As for Delta 8 THC in D8 products, it can either be made synthetically or processed from cannabinoids, which were extracted from the cannabis plant. D8 is found in small amounts in cannabis plants, making them rare compared to Delta-9 THC. The process involves special breeding, extraction, and processing methods if taken from the plant.

There are many types of D8 gummies for people of all preferences: gluten-free, non-GMO, and vegan. Most ingredients from D8 gummies include water, artificial (and organic) flavors, cane sugar, and organic hemp oil. Many average marijuana lovers can trade cannabis for vaping, but many also enjoy the similar “high,” obtained from D 8 gummies.

Yes. In the US, cannabis remains illegal in the eyes of the federal government.

However, in order for gummies to be of legal use, they must  hemp derived and remain under 0.03% of THC. Otherwise, it is considered marijuana, which puts it under a different set of rules.

Many countries have between 0.2-0.6% THC limitations.

It’s important to understand that CBD Gummies are not miracle pills. So be realistic in your expectations!

Generally speaking, CBD edibles (and especially CBD gummies) are aimed at helping various conditions.  The major reasons for consuming non-psychoactive edibles is because the CBD levels within the gummies help to cope.

And of course, CBD is now believed to even influence pain pathways and help the body deal with discomfort by affecting the bodies natural endocannabinoid system. In fact, several studies have found that CBD shows promise as a natural alternative to pharmaceuticals.

We cannot make any claims except to say that in all drug tests, CBD is considered to be undetectable in saliva or urine tests. There does, however, remain the rare instance that the trace amounts of THC in hemp may be detected. All of our CBD hemp flowers comply with all applicable regulations regarding minimal (less than 0.3%) THC content as required by law.

So can you fail a drug test? This question has two parts.

  1. One is how sensitive is the test procedure being used?
  2. And does your employer have a zero-tolerance policy?

The answer to the first question requires you to know how the test is being conducted and to what degree it’s accurate. Since CBD hemp flower is certified as industrial hemp, there can be as much as 0.3% THC in the product. Very few testing facilities are sensitive enough to detect this level but some most definitely are. If your employer will fail you for 0.3% THC or less, then we would not suggest using this product.

Research has found that THC can be detectable in your system for up to 30 days, but it’s usually only present in heavy cannabis users after the first week. It’s also important to know where you are getting your CBD flower from and if they have 3rd party lab tests that indicate the THC levels. Some CBD products might contain more than the 0.3% THC legally allowed. If you are concerned about THC levels, it is our opinion that it is not worth risking failing a drug test by using CBD products that contain THC.

There are two main ways to consume CBD flower and an additional third that is less popular.

1. Smoke CBD Flower. If you were ever a marijuana smoker or still are, then you know what to do. Simply grind it up, roll yourself a nice CBD joint, and light up. This is what most users are doing because it doesn’t take much in terms of equipment or cost. We love CBD prerolled joints. I recommend buying one of these next time you order RESTART CBD.

NOTE: Roughly 40% of CBD users are also THC users. The comfort of grinding up a CBD and THC flower together makes the consumption process easier.

2. Vape CBD Flower. Herb vaporizers are another way of getting your CBD dose with flower. Vaping is safer than smoking if you’re worried about lung health, and it’s potentially more cost-effective.

When smoking, you always lose some CBD, that burns away at the end of your joint. This isn’t so with vaping, as devices just heat the flower. Cooking the bud is enough to activate the cannabinoids and transfer them to vapor form, but you’ll never lose out on any cannabinoids.

Another advantage of vaping your CBD buds is that you aren’t burning anything and putting it into your lungs. There’s always some level of downside to that, however small compared to tobacco. With vaping, you can take bigger draws and stronger hits, which gives you more chance to become immersed in a strain’s terpenes and flavonoids. You may also get some added sublingual effects when the vapor is in your mouth.

Vaping CBD flower generally feels smoother and is very effective. The only thing is, you’ll need a vaporizer that will heat up your flower but not burn them. While this is an initial investment, people find it is very worthwhile. Note: This is NOT the same as vaping with CBD vape pens, which uses a concentrated form of CBD. You’ll need different equipment and ingredients to create vapor from CBD oil or CBD vape juice.

3. Eat or drink it. You can actually digest CBD flowers directly. Not everyone will like how it tastes, and it’ll take longer to hit you, but it definitely works. You can also consume CBD flower as a tea, decarb it to cook with or make CBD butter from the flower buds.

4. CBD Hemp flower is perfect for making your own edibles, topicals and oils. You’ll need to decarboxylate the flower by heating it in the oven, before infusing into an oil or baking with it. To get more from your CBD-rich hemp flower, we suggest using coconut oil, as it’s rich in MCTs. These compounds increase CBD’s bioavailability, making for a more potent extract.

CBD gum offers an extremely effective way to receive the fast pain relieving benefits of CBD.  It provides a superior delivery method compared to other oral CBD dosage forms, including pills, capsules, beverages, and gummies.

As you chew, the CBD is released from the gum quickly and is absorbed by your oral mucosa, not your digestive system. Bypassing your digestive tract allows the CBD to maintain its inherent bioavailability, and it also means that the CBD gets absorbed by your body five times faster than other forms of oral ingestion.

CBD gum offers a safe, unique, and effective alternative to other CBD dosage forms.

  • Convenient, easy to use.
  • Discrete and easily portable.
  • Comes in a tasty mint flavor and is made with CBD-rich hemp oil
  • Each piece of gum contains 10mg of CBD
  • CO2 extracted hemp oil
  • CBD is released from the gum quickly and is absorbed by your oral mucosa, not your digestive system.

We suggest chewing one piece a day for help in relieving discomfort from life’s general aches and pains from the normal aging process resulting from inflammation.

Studies have shown that CBD consumed in  beverages, capsules, gummies or edibles delivers less than 10% of the CBD shown on the label. With CBD gum,  you get relief for your aches and pains in rapid time, and at a dose that is strong enough to make a real difference.
