5 Facts About CBD You Should Know

NATIONAL CBD DAY 2022

Even though hemp only became federally legal in 2018, there’s already a national holiday to celebrate one of its major cannabinoids, CBD! It’s time to celebrate National CBD Day with Restart and by learning the top 5 must-know facts about CBD.

1. CBD is one of the most researched cannabinoids

There are over 160 cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. The top two major cannabinoids are CBD and THC and because of this, we’ve seen an uptick in research being performed on these two (and many other) cannabinoids!

2. CBD won’t get you “high”

CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoids meaning there is no “high” effect when consuming any sort of CBD product as long as it contains <0.3% of THC. CBD actually binds to your CB2 receptors vs THC which binds to your CB1 and CB2 receptors which is why you get “high” after smoking marijuana.

3. We all have an Endocannabinoid System

We naturally produce cannabinoids in what is called our “endocannabinoid system”. This affects multiple bodily processes such as our mood, appetite, pain, and other cognitive functions!

4. CBD can help with Clinical Endocannabinoid Deficiency

People suffering with CECD produce a lower amount of naturally produced cannabinoids. Some negative effects of this could result in Fibromyalgia, Migraines, Autism, Parkinson’s Disease, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

5. Yes, CBD is safe

The World Health Organization reported that CBD is generally tolerated by most humans. If you are unsure or are going through a chronic condition, we always recommend consulting with your doctor before any cannabis consumption.
