What is CBG?

CBG has attracted a lot of attention. People have begun to call CBG the god molecule of the cannabis plant, since it acts as a molecular precursor to most other cannabinoids such as CBN, THC, CBC, CBD etc. Until recently, CBG has only manifested in very small amounts in most cannabis strains, usually far less then 1% however, certain hemp strains are now being specifically bred to generate higher yields of this rare and fascinating cannabinoid.

If you are creating a tincture or infusing food with hemp flower, decarboxylate it first to activate the cannabinoids. The process involves applying low heat for an extended period of time (usually in an oven) to convert cannabis’ inactive cannabinoids into active ones. Without decarboxylation, the effects of DIY edibles may be weak or lackluster, at best.
